What is ILTS?

The International Liver Transplantation Society (ILTS) was founded in 1990 and is an organization of over 700 international members belonging to a multidisciplinary cadre of specialists and health care providers, who have joined to promote the focus of ILTS. The goal of the society is to raise the standard of care for patients requiring liver transplantation and to promote education and research by disseminating and exchanging information related to liver transplantation within the medical community, as well as to the public.

Types of Membership

Regular Member
A Regular membership is reserved for surgeons, physicians, scientist or anyone who has completed the doctoral level training program or equivalent. A one year subscription to the society’s publication, Liver Transplantation , is included. Regular members have the right to vote and hold office. Annual dues for regular membership are $190.00

Non-Physician Member
Non-physician membership will be available to any individual who is actively engaged in the science or clinical practice of liver transplantation but does not qualify for either regular or trainee membership, such as nurses, nurse practitioners, physician’s assistant and transplant coordinators. Non-physician members have the right to vote but may not hold office.
Annual dues for non-physicians members are $95.00

Trainee Member
A Trainee Membership is available to a physician, scientist, or health care professional interested in the field of liver transplantation who is in full-time training shall become eligible to become a trainee member. No person shall continue as a trainee member upon completion or discontinuance of the member’s training. A letter documenting the trainee’s status must accompany the application and or renewal. One may hold this level of membership for a maximum of 3 years. A one-year subscription to the society’s principle publication is included. Trainee members have the right to vote but cannot hold office. Annual dues for a trainee member are $75.

Liver Transplantation, jointly produced with the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD), is the premier journal publication on liver transplantation. This official monthly publication of the ILTS delivers current peer-reviewed articles on clinical investigations, drug research, basic laboratory research, and evolving surgical techniques.

Annual Congress and Other ILTS-Sponsored Meetings
ILTS members are offered a substantial discount on registration to the Annual Congress, the ILTS/AASLD Joint Transplant Course, and ILTS-sponsored symposia.
