About the ILTS
Welcome to ILTS
Welcome to the International Liver Transplantation Society (ILTS) web site. The ILTS evolved in 1990 from an idea formed by a group of physicians intimately involved in the care of the liver transplant patient. The society was developed to provide a forum where the best practices in clinical and ethical care could be determined and disseminated throughout the world by international discussion, science, education and scholastic support and publication. It is a multidisciplinary society including all specialties and health care providers involved in the care of the liver transplant patient. The Annual Congress is held at different sites around the world to encourage international interaction, consensus, educational and scientific networking. Additional monothematic meetings are held to develop consensus approaches to specific issues related to liver transplantation.
All practitioners involved in liver transplantation are invited and strongly encouraged to join this very active organization.
